Sports and games, being an unavoidable part of physical exercise and recreation, are also an essential element of education. Even its importance is very significant in normal education, so as in the special education too. Our school conducts various sports and games for the recreation and physical nourishment of each student on a regular base. It not only includes athletics, but also several amusements and physical entertainment which enhance their physical as well as mental abilities. Apart from that, we also conduct an annual sports ceremony for which every student is being trained and their participation is ensured. Some of the major events are running race, football, badminton, cycling, shot-put, long-jump, musical chair, candle race, etc. We are very glad that one of our students, Mr. Vishnujith S has participated in the event of 'shot-put' at the Special School Meet conducted by the Social Welfare Department at Ernakulam Maharajas Ground on the World Disability Day. We are also invited to participate in the upcoming Sports Meet conducted by the Government as part of the World Special Olympics.
Apart from the regular academics, we train our students to improve their talents in various extracurricular activities such as singing, dancing, mimicry, acting, and so on. While these programmes are part of competition or entertainment for normal students, they are influential factors in realizing and executing the capabilities of our students amidst their vulnerabilities.
Vocational programmes articulate the skills of our students in vocational endeavors. They are being trained in making soaps, soap powder, cleaning lotions, liquid soaps, flower baskets, fancy umbrellas and so on. Such things, made by our students are being sold either among the visitors or in the neighborhood. It helps them to develop their professional career as well as provides them an emotional satisfaction.
Many of the nearby churches and their auxiliary organizations, schools, and other institutions visit our school which helps our students to have a social gregariousness
Our students are very enthusiastic in maintaining a flower garden and a vegetable garden in front of the school. Planting the seeds, watering them and yielding its harvest make them joyful. It also helps them to have a concern of our ecosystem and natural environment
