The purpose of school is not only to achieve academic excellence but also to encourage creative thinking in students and to make them active members of society. We at MARC Special school strive to provide our students with an environment that enables them to maximize their potential. Some are intellectually disabled, autistic, cerebral palsy patients, and so on. Our school's primary goal is to empower intellectually disabled and autistic students. Learning brings out the best in everyone and contributes to an individual's overall development. The traditional school system was incapable of meeting the needs of special students. We can develop their abilities and social interactions through specialized education and systematic training. The special education system helps them modify their behavior, make them learn new skills, and experience the activities they do daily. When the world sees their disabilities, we see their different abilities!!!
Education is the knowledge that has been imbued with wisdom and ethics. It shapes student’s personalities, shapes their character, and develops mental skills to help them deal with the problems and challenges of today's complex world. An attitude of service-before-self is a critical character trait to instill in our youth during their education. MARC Special School strives to instill a smidgeon of love and humanity in the hopes and dreams of mentally challenged children. What began as a small humanitarian intervention in 2013 has now grown into a full-fledged advancement and rehabilitation facility that benefits hundreds of children and their families.

Mor Athanasius Rehabilitation Center & Special School
Mor Athanasius Rehabilitation center & Special School is a team of dedicated hands helping differently abled students and their families in creating a brighter future. We opened our doors in 2013 in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, to guide hands for differently abled students. We aim to provide the most thorough, tailored strategies to assist each student in reaching their greatest potential in the least restrictive environment possible. We incorporate academic, behavioral, and emotional support to help children develop new skills and improve their talents and confidence.
Our founder, Bishop Mor Aphrem Mathews, designed the initiative for students who failed in traditional education and would benefit from a small, structured, and supportive environment.
His vision was realized in 2012 when the Catholicose H.B. Mor Baselios Thomas I laid the foundation stone for a special school in Allapra in the Vengola Panchayat. Later, this kindhearted startup evolved into a huge success.
The goal of our program is to support our students in achieving various capacities and returning home with the greatest chance of success. Every student benefits from our supportive environment since it fosters academic and emotional intelligence. We deliver personalized instruction and group learning that results in successful, satisfied, lifelong learners.
